A mother’s love is like throwing a stone into the ocean: despite all the waves and stormy sea, the stone will find its way deep down and it will silently and surely hit the bottom, from where it will never leave. The stone could end up going from one side to another, traveling the bed of the sea, but it will never make its way back out of it.

Your writing touches my soul. I love a boy too. He is not autistic but he struggles mightily with mental health issues. He is 20 and I am afraid every day about what he will or won’t become. Thank you for your words. Thank you for your vulnerability. Thank you for reminding me that a mother’s love can transcend all.

This is absolutely beautiful. The life, thoughts, dreams, wishes and prayers of a mother. We do so much that is unappreciated by society, and even our children at times. But, the hope is that they will remember the warm sheets, the chocolate cake, the songs. You convey this so well, it brought a tear to my eye.

Powerful. And how lucky your kids are to have you at home with them.
I can’t worry about the future for my son. I need to live in the present. Give him love and guidance when he needs it. I gave up a career to stay home and drive him to Scouts, Taekwondo, swim team, piano class, and choir. He was lucky to have these hobbies and it helped him be more social. Singing class gave him a voice. It gave him friends.
Keep up the good work Carrie. Your family will thank you and most of all Jack.
