Your writing here captures beautifully the angst we, too, have over this pending conversation. Word recognition that we almost wish they would never have.

This broke MY heart. I missed my little buddy during “word recognition” last week. Here’s hoping he gets to join us this Wednesday for the ever exciting journey into “How Do We Spell That Sound?” ?

Oh Jack!! You make my heart sad, but yet still make me smile! I have longed for the day when you can explain to us your thoughts and slowly they are coming out! You are remarkable and so glad you are teaching us about autism (and that your mom is such an awesome writer to convey your teaching to us!) <3 Miss Nancy

    Dear Jack,

I miss you so much! I hope you are enjoying 3rd grade. I wish I could be there with you. Every time I see a radio I think of you. I have one where I work now. It’s silver and similar to the one I brought in to school to show you. Hope you enjoy the holidays!

    Sincerely,
    Jilllian a.k.a. Ms. Gagne

Carrie, your writing is tremendous. I hope that you plan on someday compiling these short stories into a book. I feel like I understand autism a little more each time I read an entry. Kudos!
