Every time I read a post from you, its as if you were a spec in my world with my spectrum grandson. Today we experienced – a meltdown? A psychotic episode? I don’t know. We drove for 6 hrs to come to wildwood for vacation.great in car. Then freak out over the sandwich that wasn’t made right. My daughter was ready to go home. Screaming crying… Then he ate. We walked to boardwalk – he was great.your post made my day. Thank you.

Beautiful sentiment. Medication has a place, as you say, when it’s needed. I have epilepsy and have to take daily medication which, thankfully keeps me fit free. It can have side effects and I’m wary of them but, without it, I could have fits and one of those fits could kill me. Jack’s medication is just the same, a means to an end,

Carrie, this is by far the best post I’ve read on the passing of Robin Williams. It may sound corny, but your piece gives me peace. You looked at the positive aspects of his life and his helpers along the way. You wish him an afterlife filled with joy. As far as medication, I always say that God gave humans the brains to invent medications. Having to take a pill for anxiety is much like taking insulin for diabetes. I have a schizophrenic sister who has been on medication for 45 years. These meds have kept her alive and allowed her to enjoy life. No one has the right to judge another’s decision about the use of medication. It is a highly personal matter.
